Finally we have reached the final chapter in a movie that should have ended with the first one.  Although this film is better than its predecessor‚ it still leaves something to be desired.

This time around Neo faces his final destiny. He has been called the savior of his people for a while‚ and in this film he has to either put up or shut up. That means taking on the machines‚ along with Agent Smith‚ who by the way is the most interesting character in the films. For a man who has the power to save the human race from the machines‚ Neo starts off trapped‚ between both worlds.

What this film lacks is its true purpose. Although the film exceeds in the aspect of its fight scenes‚ and the ohh and ahh factor on visual effects‚ it still is missing the heart that drove fans into cult like hysteria at the beginning.  This film on the inside resembles the theory taken on by Star Wars those many eons ago.  The religious aspects of the film are in both‚ but for some reason it seems dry in this film.  Even as Neo overcomes adversity the belief in him being the one doesn’t escalate‚ we don’t know for sure that he is the man for the job.  I would almost guess that Keanu Reeves portrayal of the character is dry.  In any great battle is it the quiet reserved person that commands the undying duty needed to succeed or the one who is passionate for his cause.  Therein lies my biggest problem with the film.  I know without a shadow of a doubt I wouldn’t follow him‚ because he doesn’t have belief that it is so.

With that said the special effects go off the Richter scale in this movie also‚ and at times I wished that whoever handled that portion of the film would be involved in the likes of maybe a new Superman film or anything in that ilk. It was that impressive.

With the amount of money that this film has made I would dare say that there is a chance for another go around in the future‚ although the directors say otherwise.  Money has a way of stretching things out like that.
