Disney and Pixar are at it again as they bring their collective forces together on this newest film made with computer-generated characters.  Like its predecessors Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, and Monster’s Inc. it brings this technology right up to the screen, and makes it work.

This film revolves around the father and son relationship of  Marlin (Albert Brooks) the father, and the son Nemo.  They have reached a crossroads in their relationship where Nemo is fighting for more independence and his father is just trying to hold on to the memory that use to be his baby boy.  When Nemo becomes defiant to his father, and falls victim to fish collectors the story is set for the adventure of one-scared fishes life.

Marlin must travel half an Ocean to try to rescue his son, but like any good father no distance is to great when you are fighting for family.  On his way he befriends a fish that is a little loony named Dory (Ellen Degeneres), and encounters sharks that are trying to rehabilitate themselves off of fish.

This movie falls right in line with the other great Disney films that have been released recently.  It is filled with wonderful characters, and the light touch that Disney is famous for.  All of the characters are inhabited with the right voices for their spirit, and it is a testament to the filmmakers that it is such.  The standout performance in the film would have to go to Dory voiced by Ellen Degeneres.  Her witty comic timing is what helps make this film stand out.
