This movie reminded me of leftover day.  It's never as good the second time.  That is the case with the second American Pie where we see all the cast exactly one year later getting ready for summer vacation.  This movie just doesn't have the same bite that the first one did.   The story centers mainly around Jason Biggs (Jim) who gets a second chance with Nadia (played by  Shannon Elizabeth).  The only problem is that he doesn't have confidence that he can perform to the standards Nadia might want.  He goes in search of the one girl that gave him the time of day which is Michelle (Alyson Hannigan).

Michelle becomes something of a tutor for Jim as he prepares for the arrival of Nadia.

Their are several subplots going on at the same time which is one of the reasons the second film doesn't work as well.  Here's a couple of examples:  will Oz and Heather survive a long distance relationship, shermanator (who cares), the worst thing about it is that Stifler is basically wasted in this film.

This is the universal problem with the movie is that you don't give a rats about any of the characters with the exception of Jim and Michelle.  It tries to give all the same actors air time, but it really needed to focus on one thing Jim.  It still has some funny parts, and is an ok summer movie to go to.  It just doesn't belong beside the original.
