This sequel to the smash hit Fast and Furious comes across much the same way as the first film with cars that are hooked up with the latest in racing gear, and characters that believe in the same motto: Racing is life.  The only noticeable difference this time around is the absence of one Vin Diesel who was propelled into stardom with the release of the first film.

This time the film stars Paul Walker again as Brian O’Connor who is no longer a policeman.  Instead he runs his car in the circuit as a racer.  The man that has taken the place of Vin Diesel in the film is Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pierce) of Baby Boy fame who provides a more than suitable replacement for the action star.

Brian O’Connor is running in illegal races, and has found his way to Miami.  While there he is approached by the police because they want to use him to get close to a drug kingpin Carter Verone (Carl Hauser) that wants to use some racers to distribute his product.  Inside his little operation sits Monica Clemente (Eva Mendes) that has been undercover trying to bust him for his crimes.  Part of the reason that the police wish to enlist O’Connor is to establish if their agent has been turned by the lifestyle.  That basically sets up the storyline as little as there is.

This movie doesn’t focus much on the story the only important thing in this film are the hot cars, and the scantily clad bodies that inhabit it.  We are given this visual revved up treat by Director John Singleton.  With such credentials as Boyz N The Hood, and Baby Boy behind him it is no wonder that he has captured the essence of the street cars in this film.  He fills most scenes with innovative camera shots that let you the viewer feel that you are inside every movement of the car.  Bringing along Tyrese on this ride also is not a bad move since the singer/actor has a definite presence about him that leaps off of the screen.  Since he seemed to receive no credit for the success of the first film maybe this time around Paul Walker will get some for this film that could cement both actors into even better roles.  His performance in this film reminded me of that California dude attitude that was as smooth and easy as silk.

This film although not the best in the sense of a comprehensible story is definitely
